What she writes
Her first series, Merrow Island, follows three sisters through their parents’ divorce, from a kitchen table in Charlotte to a ferry-only island off the North Carolina coast. There are five books. Each finishes its own story, and the family’s secret runs through all of them.
Other stories will follow: more families, more love stories, more places worth the trip.
Margot Albury is a pen name.
What every book promises
- Clean. Kisses, with the door closed, and no strong language.
- The women first. Sisters, mothers and daughters, and the friends who feed them.
- Something happens. A real quarrel in every book, and a laugh in every chapter.
- A whole story. No book stops halfway to sell you the next one.
Questions readers ask
Do I have to read them in order?
No: each book finishes its own story, so you can start anywhere. The Calloways’ secret comes out a piece at a time, though, so in order is best. Here’s the order.
How clean are they?
Kisses, with the door closed, and nothing stronger than an occasional “damn”. The stories are honest about hard things, such as a parent’s illness and a marriage in trouble, so they’re gentle without being weightless.
Are they Christian fiction?
No. Merrow Island has a Methodist church and a fellowship hall that feeds everybody, but the books are about family, not faith.
Where can I get them?
On Amazon, for Kindle, as each book comes out. Join the newsletter to hear the day the first one does.
